Yesterday, I gave you
two tips on how to add many dictionaries to your browser’s search box. Now, there’s more:
you can also add **any** website with a search box, including dictionaries, encyclopedias, blogs, newspaper websites etc. etc. This will open infinite possibilities for a translator’s terminology searches. And the tool that makes it all possible is
Add to Search Bar, a Firefox add-on.
It works like this:
- 1 You simply install the add-on by clicking here.
- 2 Restart Firefox.
- 3 Now, whenever you visit a website with a search box, just click with the right mouse button on the box and then click on “Add to Search Bar”.
- 4 In your Firefox search bar you’ll see the icon of the website you just added. Enter a search term and press “Enter”, just as you would normally do with Firefox’s default search engine (Google). Of course, you can alternate between several search engines. Just select the one you wish to search in a given moment and hit “Enter”.

Tip: you can also add fidusinterpres.com’s search box to your search bar! This will enable you to quickly search this blog’s content without having to first type its address.

Hallo Fabio,
Ralf
Marcos
